Grinspoon, from N.S.W, a place called Lismore.
If you've never been to Lismore you have to go! Then while you're there cruise on down to Nimbin. It's a 'quaint' little hippie town. Anyway... Grinspoon consists of :::::::

Their name was derived from Dr. Lester Grinspoon the pro- marijuana activist. Formed in Lismore back in 1995, they were 'officiallly unearthed' by Triple J, (personally, with due time they would have made it on their own).
For those who don' t know, Triple J is a radio station broadcast through out Australia and some rural areas.
'Sickfest' proved to be the song for the now, giving Grinspoon the break they needed.
With their unique style/persona and Phils antics, they are definitely doing Australia proud, giving overseas countries a taste of Grinspoon.
Their first recording was a self-titled e.p, followed by the Licker Bottle Cozy e.p in December of 96.
Licker Bottle Cozy despite only being an e.p of 5 tracks was evident of their potential with Post Enebriated Anxiety & Champion getting allot of publicity and air play. Promoting a limited edition release of 300 or so vinyl copies of Licker Bottle Cozy.
September 97 launched the release of 'Guide to Better living' By the time they had released 4 singles off their album it had already gone platinum and with overseas gigs on the agenda.
From Livid to Homebake to Big Day Out, and Springboard *well, nothing beats The Big Day Out* Grinspoon have rocked the stage.
